This is a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from young Australians to serve as Youth Commissioners on the National Youth Commission on Youth Employment and Transitions(NYC), become a member of the NYC Advisory Group, or serve as an NYC Youth Ambassador.
The National Youth Commission into Youth Employment and Transition is an independent national ‘citizen’s royal commission’ inquiry focusing on the host of issues of education, employment and transition for young people today. The Inquiry will hold public hearings across Australia, inviting young people and all interested individuals and organisations to come forward and provide input and evidence. There will be a number of major reports, a documentary film and communication of the NYC findings and recommendations to the Australian community and all levels of government.
The premise of this collective community process is that together we forge a solutions-focused policy agenda and take these solutions back for our governments for action.
Check out the website to find out more about the National Youth Commission model – www.yda.org.au.
If you believe you have the qualities to be a Youth Commissioner, please complete the online Expression of Interest below. Before filling out an online Expression of Interest (EOI) carefully read the criteria used to assess the Expressions of Interest.
Decide what you want to do and read the selection criteria carefully. The roles of each are described in more detail here.
The closing date for Expressions of Interest is Friday 10 March 2017.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their Expression of Interest by email in late April, 2017.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss your application, email the NYC Executive-Officer Keith Waters on email@example.com.
Making an Application
Make sure you have read the Expression of Interest selection criteria before completing the online application form.
Answer all questions. Leaving out questions will render your application ineligible for consideration.
You can apply for one or all three roles. The criteria are slightly different. The age range for Youth Commissioners is strict and limited to young people aged 18-25 years of age. There is not such a strict age limit for NYC Youth Ambassadors or membership of the NYC Youth Advisory Group.
You may tick one or more boxes depending on which position or positions you are applying for.
